MY ROVER

Welcome Modern

SEE MENU at top of page

This is my Rover rebuild page.  Here I will document the transition from the beast you see at the right to (hopefully) a clean, reliable, functional classic.

This Land Rover is a 1967 Series IIA 88" CKD from New Zealand.  CKD stands for Complete Knock Down and denotes the fact that this Rover was shipped to NZ in a crate and assembled over there.

My philosophy in this rebuild is this:  Function over form.  I will stay original as much as possible, but not at the expense of ability or usability.  In other words, if, in the almost 40 years since this beast was built, there has been a "better way" developed, I will use it.  I will however, strive to maintain the character of what I feel is one of the coolest 4x4s ever built.

See the menu above for links to each stage of the process.
